Strategic Coordination Groups (SCG)
In 2010, the Commission started with the assessment of the River Basin Management Plans (RBMP), assisted by Strategic Coordination Groups. The findings of this screening assessment will form the building blocks of the 3rd WFD implementation report, to be presented by the end of 2012 in accordance with WFD Article 18(3).
For 10 Member States, the assessment started at the end 2010, and it is expected that the screening assessment is finalised in this summer. These are AT, BG, CZ, FI, NL, SE, SK and FR, UK, DE. For another 8 countries, this assessment recently started: BE (Flanders), EE, IT, HU, LT, LV, PL, RO. The timing for assessing the remaining countries depends on their adoption and reporting date.
